The Republican Public Association «Yuksak Salohiyat» Ferghana Regional Branch, with the financial support of the International Partnership for Human Rights (IPHR), is implementing a mini-project entitled «Employment of People with Disabilities – Our Contribution to the Development of Society!» within the framework of the program «Expanding the Capacity of Civil Society Institutions in the Field of Human Rights, Social Protection and Environmental Protection».
Project Mission: To raise public awareness about the importance of inclusive employment, to find solutions to the challenges faced by people with disabilities in employment, and to strengthen the role of public organizations in protecting rights by increasing awareness of labor rights among socially vulnerable groups, including persons with disabilities.
⚡️On August 19 of this year, a round table-action was held in the conference hall of the "Asia" Hotel in Ferghana city within the framework of the project «Employment of People with Disabilities – Our Contribution to the Development of Society!», implemented by the Ferghana branch of the public association «Yuksak Salohiyat».
☄️The event was attended by representatives of the Ferghana Regional Hokimiyat, the Agency for Social Protection, the Main Department for Poverty Reduction and Employment, the Council of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan in Ferghana Region on Occupational Safety, media specialists, the team of the territorial division of the Association of NGOs of Uzbekistan in Ferghana Region, NGO leaders, persons with disabilities, as well as representatives of small and medium-sized businesses.
❗️Purpose of the event: presentation of reports on the implementation of the project of the Ferghana branch of the public association «Yuksak Salohiyat» entitled «Employment of People with Disabilities – Our Contribution to the Development of Society!», summing up the results of a study conducted in May of this year across the republic by the National Agency for Social Protection in cooperation with UNDP on the topic «Barriers faced by young people with disabilities in the labor market», as well as coverage of other news in this field, screening of videos on the work carried out and plans, and holding an award ceremony for the winners.
🔼It should be noted that the round table was held at a high level. The active participation of each attendee, their sincere opinions and practical suggestions enriched the content of the event even more. This once again demonstrated the relevance and importance of the project not only for people with disabilities but also for all segments of society.
